Congratulations Adam & Mary Claire

Adam and Mary Claire tie the knot. Actually they did a couple of weeks ago...I'm just late in downloading my pics. However, more comprehensive sets of pictures are available on Chester's site.

Culinary Excursion

I have heard about the elusive Chili-Mac and have been fascinated by it and really just wanted to try it. Holy crap people. The shit is good. I don't know why I didn't eat this everyday in college....because it's perfect college food.

Chester - did you hear me? This is PERFECT college food.

OMG - I'm so on my way to PWT stardom. The only things missing now are to
  • Make sure Rhonda makes my next haircut a mullet
  • Trade in the Element for a beat up Camaro
  • Ensure the Camaro does not work so it can remain on cinder blocks on my parents' lawn
I almost made homemade mac&cheese in an effort to "glam" this up...but there's no denying it. Going straight out of the box and can is the way to go on this meal. Preservatives are the wave of the future - why else do you think I look so young?

Welcome Owen William Rosas

That's Caroline and Lee's little guy who was actually born last Sunday 8/20 but I just got pictures this week. It's been a rough week for the new parents so I will have to accept that there will be a longer than normal time delay in receiving pictures of Owen. He spent his first week of life in Mass General's NICU fighting off an infection but the latest report from Mommy Rosas is that baby is doing well and will be going home - good news :)

An Enterprising Vy

Those are just some samples of what was available at today's accessory party. Vy has recently ventured into making headbands and decided to join forces with her cousin who makes jewelery to host a party where friends can stop by, preview the wares and purchase if something strikes their fancy. I forwarded some pictures to a coworker on Friday who quickly jumped at the opportunity to get 2 headbands. I purchased 3 of the smaller width headbands thinking they would make nice gifts for Forrest's nieces when we see them at Thanksgiving. There was some additional colors and fabrics available making me think that some people out there are going to get hair accessories for Christmas this year :)

Gene Pool Obligations

I'm so close to moving out of the kang compound I can almost taste it. It tastes like freedom... it sounds quiet. I am so close to losing my mind - I may go postal.

Dictionary - second nature

second nature
n. An acquired behavior or trait that is so long practiced as to seem innate

A habit or mode of behavior so long practiced that it seems innate, as in Driving in heavy traffic is second nature to Chris. This expression is a shortened form of an ancient proverb, Custom (or usage) is a second nature, first recorded in 1390. It alludes to the fact that very frequently repeating something makes it seem completely natural or inborn.

n : acquired behavior that is practiced so long it seems innate

Beachfront View...ewww

Apparently this is what my brother considers to be a great beach front view. In front of my towel spot at the beach is this past weekend. I had chosen not to apply sunscreen since it was cold and overcast...much to my dismay. But the sun finally came out for the last hour and a half...roasting me to perfection. My sunburn still hurts and today is Wednesdy...at least I don't have a shorts tanline anymore.

option 1

Was at Costco the other day to purchase some contact lenses and lens cleaner solution stuff and came by the glasses area. Tried on a few options to see what kind of glasses might be part of my next optical purchase...these two options were the frontrunners... I think I prefer option 2

option 2

Ready, Set, GO!

Picture by Venus: That's everyone at the starting line getting ready to launch into the Tour de Peninsula, a 33 mile bike ride throughout, you guessed it, the peninsula. Linh was all gung ho about doing the entire race "it's all about the 33! "

Around mile 20 Linh was wanting to be done...myself likewise as we were getting tired....but we had to finish because we had to get back to our cars..ha

1:1 Career Direction

That's the title of my Outlook meeting request from my new manager today. I don't know about what you think...but it sounds like a re-org to me. I guess I'll learn more during my meeting tomorrow.

Shameful Secret

I bought the Paris Hilton song "Stars are Blind" I went to itunes and paid real money for it. Now Apple has added this to my music shopping patterns.

I hate to say it but it's really kind of catchy. Most people have said that it reminds them of a No Doubt song...similar in style, etc. I can see how they could come to that conclusion, but in my mind, it reminds me of the song "The Tide is High" by Atomic Kitten

**sample of the lyrics** you be the judge
The tide is high
But I'm holding on
I'm gonna be your number one

I'm not the kinda girl
Who gives up just like that (Oh no)

It's not the things you do
That tease and hurt me bad
But it's the way you do the things
You do to me
I'm not the kinda girl
Who gives up just like that
*Oh no*

The tide is high
But I'm holding on
I'm gonna be your number one
The tide is high
But I'm holding on
I'm gonna be your number one
