Off the Grid - Lunch truck renaissance

Friday we headed off to Fort Mason's interior parking lot to check out Off the Grid, a weekly food truck festival of sorts. I friended them on Facebook of all things...and the truck line up changes weekly. I ain't gonna lie - IT WAS PRETTY NEAT! It's nice to see the food revolution taking form in many different ways. The only thing I'd change is in how we brought Donut. I was carrying her in a baby carrier and it made it too hard to eat so next time we are going stroller.

For eats we tried Chairman Bao, Onigilly, Some Empanada place and the bar for a little sangria.

Chairman Bao - MM MMM GOOD! We had both the steamed and baked bun and we chose a pork belly with daikon filling for the baked bun and a confit duck for the steamed bun. Maybe not super duper authentic (but I'm not Chinese so what do I know) but I know I liked it.

Onigilly - it's like a samurai food but basically it was a gigantic sushi roll with brown rice. I liked it but maybe not $3 worth of joy for the small bite.

Empanadas - the mushroom one was my absolute FAVORITE! Donut like it too. I am so glad she is eating regular food now and has real teeth because we can just head to things like this and share our food with her.

Looking forward to the next visit...
