Went to dinner with Forrest last night in Russian Hill. We couldn't decide where we wanted to eat (we're both kind of indecisive and there are so many choices in SF) and we watned to try some place new. So the answer was - drive to Russian Hill...then walk around until we find a restaurant and then walk in and start eating! Alas, what we found was Zarzuela...a little spanish style tapas place... And I must say - Yummy.
The baked goat cheese wtih tomatoes was super yum yum....as I am a big goat lover. The lamb skewers were smaller than I had expected and not very attractive but they were good. I can appreciate lamb a little more as I get older[1]. I think the peel 'n eat shrimp kind of wierded Forrest out as he tried in vain to peel the shrimp with his fork and knife. With that sort of food, it is essential to cut use the utensils that come with standard (your hands). The marizpan cake was a little gross though because the marizpan tasted like the refridgerator...ewwwwwwww
So I know quite a number of peeps in the city, namely the entire population of SCU's DG house lives in the Cow Hollow/Marina area. So I always am curious as to whether I will randomly run into them or not...so far not so much - outside of running into Hollis and Sal at Town's End on a Sunday morning even though they both live on the other side of town. But alas, last evening I ran into Janel (Vy's work friend) at Zarzuela and was seated next to her and ?Mark? I think his name was???
