I am pretty hung over today...and tired. It is becomming glaringly obvious that I must choose between raging and working out. Lately I've been training for Bay to Breakers so I've been running a TON compared to my previously sedentary life....all this running leaves less time for partying and especially drinking. AM runs on the weekends with Forrest also make boozing late on weekend nights a little different....Don't get me wrong, I am really starting to get into all this fitness stuff....but I need to re-adjust my alcohol barometer...because when I do go out, I still drink as much as I used to, and I end up feeling like a ginormous pile of shit the next day and with a vague recollection of any embarrasing things I may have said...
For instance, I remember that I was scolding Sam's rugby coach at one point for previously saying that he couldn't show up to the banquet...and we had moved the start time to accomodate his schedule. Apparently I am a psycho drunken soccer mom...

Not so strong
USF Rugby Banquet 2005
Last night was the USF Rugby Team banquet dinner at Bocce Cafe...I remember running around getting bottles of wine and taking pictures of everything...and I especially remember not eating very much - hence being loaded. The event went well and I think everyone had a good time. Real and gag awards were handed out and everyone thanked Sam during their acceptance speech...the man of the hour.

North by Northwest...
Comments and observations from my most recent travels....
- Teenage girl throwing a tantrum becaue she didn't want to gate check her rolling suitcase...in her own words "I am NOT checking this BAG! I have to go to school tomorrow, I'm busy...I have things to do! You don't understand how difficult SeaTac airport is!"
- My row 20 farmer's book club (previously commented)
- Teenage girl starts complaining on the flight because there is no room for her suitcase...adamately stating that "I am NOT checking this bag" she better hope she stays as cute as she is and doesn't turn into a cow like her mother...because that attitude won't get her very far if she'f ugly.
- My dessert of strawberry shortcake at Spencer's Chop House was literally taller than I am
- Return flight included a gay couple with a young son and daughter...super cute kids...the daughter was having a tantrum (totally ok because she's 2 or 3) but interestingly enough the only parents on the flight who had the decency to bring the carseat onto the plane.

OMG Clark Kent!
Holy Crap! I just finished watching Smallville which I haven't seen in ages because there is no time for me to reign over the remote control at the parental casa. Clark lost his memory for awhile and had to fumble around Smallville trying to remember anything all the while he has his superpowers that he doesn't even know about or keep secret because apparently he became retarded when he lost his memory....BUT!!!! it looks as though Mr Superboy will be making a play for Lana after all! Finally! now those two are some people that need to get some. Also, Chloe now knows all about Clarks' superpowers....duh duh duh
Molly's for a post-flight meal
Last night I stopped by Molly's to pick up my very own signed copy of the new Tyler Florence cookbook only to be greet with Pinot Noir and a warm meal of grass fed beef with a balsamic reduction sauce on a bed of baby greens with a veggie salad of chopped orange tomatoes, english cucumbers, avocado and pepper....
We both needed to be up early the next day - and even went through the effort of saying "yeah, let's hang out but i can't stay up late" only to chat, eat dinner and sip wine until midnight...i think we always know it's going to turn into a late night gab session, but if we say it isn't...then we feel like we're making a good effort...espeically on a school night :)

Mile High Book Club: Alaska Airlines Row 20
I just started reading My Antonia recently (as I love to read while riding in planes, trains and automobiles - ha!) and decided to take it on the plane for my trip to Seattle...I recently finished East of Eden by Steinbeck on a business trip to New Jersey.
I travel so much that I have my quirks...I don't want to meet or talk to people on the plane, there is NO novelty in it for me, travel time is my alone/quiet time...and I cherish every minute of it by sleeping/reading/listening to my iPOD. But on this trip....2 men sitting next to me, dared to start a conversation when I pulled out my book.
Snipets of the conversation:
- Middle seat guy: Hey! I'm reading the same book
- Betty: Shut the fuck up?! Really?? (in jovial tone)
- Middle seat guy: (taken aback) Uh, yeah, really...see? (takes out book). How far have you read? Do you like it?
- Betty: It's alright...I've been kind of spot reading it so far, I was mowing through a 600 pager before this...East of Eden by Steinbeck.
- Middle seat guy: Really? Cool! I just read The Long Valley by Steinbeck
- Window seat guy: I just read Of Mice and Men...easy short read...and now I'm reading Tortilla Flat
- Betty: Wow...who would have known we'd have our own farmers book club on this flight?
T Flo Forever - Super Chef 911
Tyler Florence was at Draeger's in San Mateo last weekend for a cooking demonstration and book signing for his new book "Eat This Book" pictured above. Mike called Molly to tell her and of course, Molly called me and there I was screaming at the top of my lungs in the middle of Union Square...Forrest appropriately stared at me because I was acting like a retard. Mike told Molly that the restaurant was busy and there were a billion women coming in to see Tyler - but later surprised us with our own signed copies of the book...
BTW - hard to find any personal info on Tyler Florence....but he obviously has tons of women stalkers...

On the road again...
Off to Seattle for a 2 day stint....will be back tomorrow night. Flights are delayed as usual...thank god my laptop battery hasn't run out yet....I'm so hungry....hmmmm
Generationally Speaking
While sitting at SJC airport I got an interesting IM from Trish....who apparently doesn't work ever but IMs all day (she's so fired - again). She pings me to say that her 13 year old nephew apparently thinks I am hot. hmmmmm
So my guess is that when casually dressed I somewhat resemble a 12-14 year old girl.....When dressed up I can kinda pull off my actual age of 27 (almost 28 *GASP*)...And my party persona is eternally 21....
LOL - I apparently span generations. Good to know, I guess....creepy and flattering all at the same time. This is the most self-loving blog ever.

The Ladies at Suite 181
The ladies from left to right: Alana, Lauren, Me, Vy, Hollis and Colleen
That's us posing and looking super cute (as usual) at Suite 181 on Friday evening for Vy & Meeta's combined birthday dancing extravaganza! We had a reserved area with tables (very low coffee tables) and some sofas....in the section that has the lighted dancefloor. Personally I like Suite 181 because it's big, has 2 levels and an outdoor area...but the scenery could be better. This DEFINATELY ain't no Dolce...jeez. I was commenting about how "skeevy" the crowd was and another comment was made that they looked like "bridge and tunnel people" I was thinking they shipped everyone in from East San Jose for the evening....
Like Sam can REALLY hear the phone at that place..uh huh...whatever dude, you're so f-ing cool. BTW - can you see sam's awful dress shirt..it is strangely reminiscent of the striped shirt guy article on Phat Phree.

Vy and Meeta's Birthday Party
Last night they had a party at Suite 181...it's actually a pretty hip spot but located in the slightly creepy area of the Tenderloin...music generally tends to be ok and the drinks are overpriced but strong - so no harm no foul.
I would LOVE to post pictures but I can't....because my F-ing camera either deleted the pictures off the memory card...or can't read them. Regardless, it's apparently time for a new digital camera...why must my consumer electronic items always burn out after a year?

Dinner at La Catena
Chancey, Me and Jason at La Catena in Roselle Park, NJ. They serve northern Italian food and apparently Chancey has been going there for years so we got the special treatment....I couldn't even tell you what's on the menu because I never got to see one:)
Especially fabulous was the appetizer plate that we got...we each got our own but it contained:
- Buffalo Mozarella..so soft and creamy
- Roasted Red Bell Pepper with Reduced Balsamic
- Grilled Portabello Mushroom
- Shrimp Gorgonzola (Gigantic Prawn that's split fried and in a pool of gorgonzola sauce)
- Eggplant thingy (Mozarella wrapped in eggplant and prosciutto breaded and fried served with a creamy tomato sauce)
So f-ing good...I can't even remember my entree...I dunno if I even ate my entree
Team Tan in a sea of dark suits
Me, Ed and Chancey at a pharmaceutical industry seminar. Great minds think alike I tell ya....the pharma industry is a particularly dark conservative suit type of place. I decided to wear a tan suit because, well it's spring...and I don't like to wear black. Well, Ed and Chancey had the same idea and we just thought it would be funny to take a picture because this totally wasn't planned but we match :) i know i know...super gay. btw - the shirt i'm wearing underneath my suit seemed fine when i bought it but it got progressively lower as the day wore on....and basically if you look up close you can see my boob tanline from my bikini...jeez

The Tales of Business Travel
View of the airplane parking lot at 8:00 am at Denver airport seen through the window at TGI Fridays. Look at all of those planes lined up to shuttle all of our bovine asses to cart us all over the country.
Some interesting things to note from this business trip:
- I don't understand why New Jersey is the Garden State...it didn't look like any garden I've seen or want to have
- Airline ticket counter people tend to be mean...for no reason
- It's actually quite comfortable and effective sleeping on the floor in the airport in front of your gate
- Going eastbound is always harder than coming back to the west

Frequent Flier Babies
United Airlines recently announced a new benefit of their FF program...you can trade in a million miles for your very own, shiny new asian baby....hahahahaha...just kidding - the post below is actually rather serious and not full of jokes.
On my trans-continental flight yesterday there were 5 asian babies (small infants) on the plane. At first I only noticed 1 or 2 of them so I figured it as a family traveling with their new babies. Later I noticed people signing very formal looking documents written in korean - so I assumed that they were immigration or visa papers. After I de-planed I was heading towards the Airtran when I noticed a slew of "it's a girl" and "it's a boy" balloons, a crowd of people and flashes from multiple cameras. What I had just witnessed was the ending ceremony of an overseas adoption.
I felt strange and just stared...in many ways I was embarrased for looking, because it felt like I was intruding or spying - like when people pause a little too long when passing by your living room window - wondering what family moments may lay inside. It was amazing to watch these families accepting their new additions as if they had birthed them themselves....it made me wonder what their individual journeys were that led them all to the Newark airport on a tuesday evening to accept their babies. It was touching and sad all at the same time....every single happy family there probably had a very difficult and emotional ordeal to get there.
I have friends with children who were conceived naturally, with the assistance of medicine, friends who have adopted, step-children, decisions for no children, those who are faced with uncertainty and those whose options are limited because of their own biology....every one of their stories to be a couple +1 ran through my head as I watched these new families unfold. Someone else decided they didn't want this gaggle of asian babies and someone else snatched them up. Beautiful and Sad all at the same time...

Perils of Public Transportation
I love taking things like the train and cabs....actually I just dislike the act of driving. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE MY TRUCK - but I greatly dislike driving all over town, I prefer to be driven around :) So Tuesday morning I needed to get my butt over to SFO and I took Bart. Not too shabby - but it ain't no CalTrain. Some unsettling discoveries on Bart.
- There was a long brown streak on the floor of the train car that I was in, like someone took a piece of shit and used it as a magic marker down the middle of the car. barfo
- A guy sitting 10 rows away from me, facing me was picking his nose as if the act were going to be banned starting tomorrow....I am shocked and surprised that he hadn't broken trough the skin at the top of his nose, creating a third useless nostril.
- It does smell funny on Bart and the seats are stained...wtf are these people doing on the cars?

On it's way
So instead of the S5N that I previously posted about, I have decided to purchase the W5A from ASUS....it's like 1.5 pounds heavier but has an internal CDRW/DVDROM drive and a camera and some other doohickies that I am sure I won't know how to use. It does have integrated wireless stuff...mumbo jumbo...it all sounds really cool. I can't wait to get my new super cute computer!
It'll be small enough to carry around in a large purse! An excuse to buy a big purse :) but I will need some sort of protective cover for the laptop.....my vote is for one of those neoprene sleeves...but I am sooooo open to suggestion - please suggest away!
This hot potato should be in my hands by this weekend - I am so excited I could pee my pants.
Kampai!
Sushimania's 11 year anniversary was on Sunday night...and I as a 6 year subscriber to Hidei's japanese madness I had to attend. He closed the restaurant at 7:00pm to the general public and turned the sushi bar area into a ginormous buffet area for $40 per person all you can eat. The gigantic bins of beer are always a hit too....we never finish all the food or beer - he's usually traying to give it away at the end of the night. The best part was the raffle at the end...everyone won something - there was the obligatory copy of japanese porn and tons and tons of seaweed.

Weekend Runs
I'm pretty f-ing tired now....Saturday Forrest and I ran 4.6 miles around Lake Merced...pretty area just below ocean beach to the left of SFSU. The 4.6 miles part wasn't so bad, but at the slower running pace it was 52 minutes of jogging...WOW...now that's a long time! What's even better is that we were both pretty hung over from Kristin's party the night before.
Sunday morning's run was about 3 miles at 30 minutes on the Embarcadero...dude I am so tired. I've never been a big runner...or even liked running for that matter...I still don't but it is getting progressively easier. Hollis asked me if I wanted to run the Napa 1/2 marathon with her and her sister Colleen in mid-July....this time last year I would have said "you're nucking futs" but now...I am actually considering it.
HOLY CRAP - what's become of me?

Last Minute Show Date
Chester belting out the tunes at Fremont Bar...saturday night he returned for an impromptu visit, much to the delight of the ladies that run the Fremont Bar. They just LOVE chester....and I think it's super fun to watch him sing karaoke...he gets so into it.
Sam - the ladies at the Fremont were asking about you...and saying how fun you were and how you need to go back real soon...new fans

In bed at Dolce
Front Row: Susi, Hiroko, Kristin, Me, Forrest, Jason sprawled out in front. Back Row: Linh, Erin and Sean
The crew lounging in bed at Dolce...it's about 9:30 pm and I believe some people are already a little loady....woo-hoo that was a fun night! Complete with a fun hangover the next day. Some highlights of the evening:
- Erin (different Erin than in above pic) shows up and does what's called the "Backflip" dance or whatever that she made up with her sister on the ver bed that is in the picture....basically she's lying on her back with legs in pike position in the air and she bounces to the end of the bed...very strange and yet hilarious to watch
- Hiroko was like "party boy" from jackass and proceeded to goose me a few times....rather unsettling because i was wearing a thong underneath my skirt.
- Linh gets kicked out
- Linh decides she no longer wants to stand, so she goes to lean onto Jason for support without telling him about her decision, Jason is surprised when Linh basically tips over and takes them both out, then they are promptly kicked out
- Everyone was loaded
- We all had hangovers the next day, Hiroko was the worst off I believe
- There were multiple fights (I need to get more G2 on this one)
- Forrest took me to Dottie's in the Tenderloin at 8:00 am for breakfast...after a few hours of drunken passed-outedness (I think I was still drunk at the time...so my scrambled eggs were swaying as much as I was)
Kristin's Birthday Dinner at Caffe Sport in North Beach. I didn't know what was going on but at the end of dinner the waiter comes by and basically feels me up, kisses me and yells something at me...didn't know this then, but I was supposed to "pass the kiss" Forrest was felt up by our waiter too...Eddie seemed to be enjoying his biceps. Dinner AND a compliment - wow what a place..

Around in circles
I ran 3 miles today at lunch...following my Nike Running plan I needed to do a 30 minute easy run, which equated to 3 miles for me. "easy run" to me equals mind numbingly boring...but I did it. Now where is that McDonald's that I was going to eat for lunch.....
Happy Birthday Vy!
Linh and Vy (sisters) at Laura's birthday party in January.
Today is Vy's birthday! Her real birthday, not her fake birthday where I accidentally call her a month before her actual birthday because I have her birthday listed twice in my outlook calendar. Tonight is happy hour at Faultline Brewery and her actual party is next friday in the city...should be a good time. WOW - I think Vy's turning 26...and I was there when she wasn't even old enough to legally drink.
FIFO, LIFO
In remembering back to some of my accounting classes (who knows) I remember the inventory methods LIFO and FIFO meaning Last in First Out and First in First Out, respectively. It's a method of turning around inventory into sales or whatever....
In the case of my work habits, I feel like I am FILO....First In and Last Out...WTF.

Lunchtime workouts
Not that any of you care...but I just ran 4 miles during lunch. Actually it was 3.9 miles plus some walking but who's counting? I would have tried to run longer but, uh, I needed to get back to work and I had already been on the treadmill for 40 minutes...and still needed to stretch and try to get in some abs.
Now I'm so F-ING hungry I could eat my truck.
At Long Last...
She's all mine! WOO-HOO I paid my last car payment in March...such a strange feeling. Celebrity is 100% owned by me...I just got the pink slip in the mail the other day. Now that I own the truck...I am somewhat jonesing for a ride that gets better gas mileage...hahaha..it just never ends. I'll make my brother buy a hybrid so we can swap cars.
But isn't she perty? yes my car is female...it's along the same lines as men naming their boats after women, blah blah blah

Size really does matter
Ah, yes. The super small, super light laptop. Soon you will be mine, to carry in my carry-on all over the country. At 2.8 pounds with a 12 inch screen, I would trade in my right arm to have this laptop instead of the behemoth Dell that resides on my desk today. It's all about being easily portable...and heavy (like fat people) arent't really that easily portable.
OOPS she did it, she's prego - maybe she should decrease the smoking and tanning now....that Kevin Federline guy is sure getting some good airtime populating this planet...too bad he couldn't pass on better looking or hard working traits into the gene pool.
Ligers in Training
Yesterday was our first softball team practice....heeheehee...so Vy, Hiroko and I are typical girls and squealed when the ball came zooming by our faces and we also throw like girls. heeheehee. I am sure there is a lot of hope for our summer league softball team, uh, because, uh, the guys on the team are really good.

Courtesy of Caroline
here's a little greeting from the right coast...
9 Things I hate about people (in general)
- People who point at their wrist while asking for the time.... I know where my watch is pal, where the hell is yours? Do I point at my crotch when I ask where the toilet is?
- People who are willing to get off their ass to search the entire room for the tv remote because they refuse to walk to the tv and change the channel manually.
- When people say "Oh you just want to have your cake and eat it too". Damn right! What good is cake if you can't eat it?
- When people say "it's always the last place you look". Of course it is. Why the hell would you keep looking after you've found it? Do people do this? Who and where are they? Gonna Kick their asses!
- When people say while watching a film "did you see that?". No Loser, I paid $12 to come to the cinema and stare at the damn floor.
- People who ask "Can I ask you a question?".... Didn't really give me a choice there, did ya sunshine?
- When something is 'new and improved!'. Which is it? If it's new, then there has never been anything before it. If it's an improvement, the n there must have been something before it, couldn't be new.
- When people say "life is short". What the hell?? Life is the longest damn thing anyone ever does!! What can you do that's longer?
- When you are waiting for the bus and someone asks "Has the bus come yet?". If the bus came would I be standing here, dumbass?
Charting my progress
In an effort to keep track of my running improvements, I am proud to say that over this weekend I have been able to go the following:
- Decrease my average mile time by 1 minute. I ran 2 miles in 18 minutes on Saturday - that is just too fucking rad
- Increase my endurance on running hills by running a hill program on the treadmill for about 25 minutes. The original goal was 30 minutes but I totally crapped out and had to walk the last 5.
4 Timer Tiger
I watched the masters at augusta while running a hill program at the gym yesterday. I used to find golf super boring, dull and pointless.....until I started playing. Now it's the most riveting and painfully difficult sport on the planet - but I find it enjoyable...I almost bite my nails while watching gold on TV. That's a big endorsement considering I am extrememly vain and would NEVER bite my nails.
BUT...what a win on Sunday for Tiger! That one putt where the ball just sat on the edge of the cup for 2 of the longest seconds on tv before it drops in. Meanwhile the camera is zoomed in so close that all you can see are the dimples on the while golf ball and the nike logo slowly rolling. Pretty fucking sweet!
Then after the event, ESPN did a little montage/recap of the weekend, especially highlights of the amateur/pro pairings for the par 3 tournament...what about the young kid from england who got a whole in one? And the especially touching tribute to Tiger, Nicklaus and Palmer being the only golfers in history to have won at least 4 masters (Nicklaus won 6). Apparently Tiger was paired up with Nicklaus when he first showed up at Augusta 10 years ago for the amateur/pro competition. Pretty cool - kinda like the pic of Clinton shaking Kennedy's hand.
I love the sports highlights/history things that ESPN does - always gets me a little choked up.
What about the matching top?
My new Nike tempo track shorts and yes it has 2 matching tops....heeheehee. Sam totally vetoed the matching tops stating "That's fucking bright" and "you don't need matching tops" and "just buy a white top" apparently the teal top with red and white striping was a little too much for him to bear. But I think it would have been kinda cute - I would have looked totally retarded but in a sunny and bright sort of way.

USF vs Santa Rosa City College
The boys' last game of the 2005 Season. Also Sam's last collegiate rugby game. I drove Sam, Ben and Eileen to the game so we were there around noon...thankfully the Petaluma outlets were nearby for me and Eileen to kill some time. Although it solidified my distaste for shopping and my love for spending $$. What I really need is a personal assistant who will shop for me.

You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling
Woa, that lovin feelin. Baby, Baby, I get down on my knees for you. If you would only love me like you used to do, yeah! We had a love...a love...a love you don't find everyday! So don't, don't, don't, don't let it slip away.... Baby, I beg of you please...please!
Ahhh yes...introducing the Fremont Bar to generations. Who knew Sam was so into karaoke...I think he has a shot on American Idol.
Choking the Chicken
For Sam's birthday I took him to a Giants game...so Sam, me, Forrest, Ben, Dobel, Francis and Sabeena all sat in the center field bleachers section 137. The funnier part of the evening was entering the park...because they handed out these inflatable chickens. I don't know what they were for, but there were plenty of cock jokes and references to choking the chicken. And funny enough, in the above picture...Sam not only has a cock in his mouth, he's also gripping it with both hands. LOL
I couldn't tell you if the game was good or bad, because we were pounding cheap beer as if prohibition started tomorrow. I do know that the Giants lost (bummer) and that there were 3 different incidents of aggravated assault in the bleachers around us.
I vow to NEVER sit in the cheap seats ever again.

I may vomit
Trisha, Corley and I were taking a stroll across the parking lot to get our morning coffees at Palace Cafe. As I was putting my foot down for my next step...lo an behold...I freaked out. What was laying on the ground was a used condom...EWWWWW...it was even tied off at the top....
OMG - my gag reflex is still choking me from seeing that...gross.
I am so traumatized

Bay To Breakers Shorts?
There was a joke for awhile that I would wear super gay running shorts when I ran Bay to Breakers. We all stopped joking about it...and I actually got serious about running and making sure I don't pass out or die while running B2B. But Trish found these today, once again instead of working - I totally have to fire her...but there is NO WAY I'm running in these..are you nuts? But I may get some just to wear - they are kinda cute.

Happy Birthday Sam
That's a picture from Disco Sam's birthday last year in Vegas - He is 22 today, dude, my brother is getting old. I'm sure he'll float in a pool of Natty light tonight as he boozes it up to celebrate the last birthday before you have to graduate school and do boring stuff, like get a job. It's all good though because Thursday I'm gonna get him drunk when I take him to the Giants game.

Pom-wonderful marketing
It's so good for you that you won't know what to do with all the extra years you'll be living. Outside of the fact that Pomegranate juice is super good for you (the highest level of antioxidants or something) it comes in super fun packaging with super cute logos. I swear, I first bought this stuff on their packaging alone (yes I drink the corporate kool-aid everyday) but now I totally dif this stuff. I'm guessing the bottle is supposed to look like pomegranates stacked on top of each other, but I've gotten some very strange looks when drinking this at work....I'm guessing it resembles a bong? other than that, I don't want to think about it.
Dinner with the Michiganders
Sunday night was dinner at Lavanda in Palo Alto with Tom & Angie. They currently live in East Lansing, MI but were in town for their friend Paula's wedding at Seascape (fabu place). Never been to Lavada before but I gotta say, it was good! We started off with a Baked Mozarella (pic below) and Baked Clams with Chorizo appetizers - yummy! Then let's see...Tom had the Pork Chop (which was HUGE), Angie got the Gnocchi with Browned Butter and Sage (good - not Vin Santo good, but good) and I had the Baked Penne in Tomato Sauce with Ricotta, Peas and little melted mozarella balls...mmmmm....
My New Kicks
Those are my new running shoes. They are the Nike Air Pegasus Storm....they are dark gray trail running shoes...I'm still getting used to them. Not nearly as flashy as my Shox, but I'll deal because they are apparently more stable and better for me. With all the miles I've been logging these days, that's really important. Maybe I'll get a pair of Shox later for good measure :)

Run like the wind (sort of)
I feel soooooooo accomplished! Saturday I ran 4 miles in GG park and Sunday I ran 3 miles on the Embarcadero. I now barely have the energy to walk....my legs are jello.

Saturday Night is Ladies Night!
Front (Melanie, Lauren, me) Middle (Jenny, Hollis, Viv) Back (Annie, Alana)
OMG! too many hotties in one bar...this may be illegal! Saturday night after dinner with Forrest at Plouf, we headed down to Harry's on Fillmore to meet up with my DG brood. Since we had a late dinner, the ladies were all ready in full swing by the time we got there. There was a lot of hootin, hollerin, hugs and kisses. Really, I think we were the hot chick cluster...heehee...
North Beach Beer & Oyster Festival
Saturday afternoon I met up with Trisha at the North Beach Beer & Oyster Festival. I was delighted at the idea of stuffing my face with oysters (of course) and Trisha was excited to be in SF and not in Tahoe (for once) and get to explore the delights of her new hometown.
Above is a picture of the $15 plate of a dozen oysters. The picture does not lie, those fuckers are HUGE! Literally, they were triple the size of regular restaurant oysters and they were MEATY. Yummy goodness, but only after I got the plate (to share, of course - because I like sharing) did Trisha tell me that she doesn't eat oysters.....that wench...she's so fired (again). But I talked her into eating 2 and I wolfed down the remaining 10 with a zeal not yet witnessed by mankind.

Larry Stone - the man, the myth, the legend
Friday night I went to Rubicon with Forrest, Molly, Mike, Chester and Cindy. I had heard of this place in an article about Master Sommeliers featuring Larry Stone. We all got the tasting menu (of course) there is no other option when you're sitting at a table full of 1. foodies, 2. lushes and 3. you're at a place like Rubicon. It was amazing! The attention from the staff (especially Larry Stone), the finely coreographed serving of the courses and the personal attention from Mr. Stone. I particulary liked how he signed the menu for me...and wrote "Viognier Rules" for Mike.
Chester has already put up pics and commentary of the food so click here.
Too lazy to even get some...
We as a nation have reached an all time low. I know most people are fat and lazy...but now they are too tired to bone? I mean, that's a basic human function like eating, sleeping or pooping! I am outraged at this article from a San Diego paper. Well, this red blooded American definately isn't too sleepy....I hardly sleep as it is :)
This is why people have road rage, fight and do stupid shit...all they really need is a little release *wink wink* so get to it already.

Benefits of illness
Last week I was sick...like cold/flu type of sick. I knew I was sick when I realized that I wasn't hungry (GASP) and that does not happen very often. The good thing about losing your appetite is that, well, you lose weight. I think I lost a few pounds here and there..but you can't tell unless I turn sideways. My curse is that I am wide, but flat.
No sense in losing more weight because if I turn sideways you won't be able to see me. What good is that if I still look like a big girl from the front and back? hahahahaha

Sin City?
When does the first bus leave for this place? HAHAHA...so this movie opens today AND it looks super hot...not just good looking people hot, but "really cool" hot. I've seen a few commercials and I'm sold...I'll go to another movie this year. Holy Crap! What's wrong with me? If I go see Sin City, that'll be the third movie this year and it's only April...wow...whole new me apparently.
p.s. I liked Jessica Alba as a brunette better...check out this month's issue
